Phase Failure Relays
MKS-MKC Series Summary Overheating and damage of 3-phase motor due to phase fault is one of the common faults faced by industrial plants. Thermomagnetic relay, an important component of motor protection, is too slow to ensure fault tripping because of its electromechanical structure and high current setting range. ¡ð May close | Protect characteristics 1. Phase fault When the monitored 3-Phase Voltage is valid, output Relay is ON, and if any of the three Relays fails, the output device immediately shuts down. 2. phase sequence When the phase sequence is correct (L1, L2, L3 clockwise), the output Relay is ON (that is, start), and if the phase sequence is changed for any reason, the output Relay is immediately closed. 3. PTC protection If the coil temperature in the motor exceeds Tc, PTC temperature limit (see PTC-3 below), output Relay is immediately closed. 4. Fixed Voltage Out-off-balance When the phase Voltage Out-off-balance is larger than the fixed value (20% or 40%), the output Relay is closed within 0,2 second. 5. Adjustable Voltage Out-off-balance When the interphase Voltage Out-off-balance is less than the user adjustment value, output Relay starts (ON). If the Out-off-balance value exceeds the user settin limit (5%-15%), output Relay closes at the end of the user settin¡¯s delay time (0,1... 10s). If the failure disappears within the delay time, the output Relay does not close and the motor continues to work normally. In addition to these features, MKC-05P Relay is also turned on when R-phase Voltage exceeds 178 V AC. Its phase sequence and Out-off-balance LED flicker at the same time.
